I am using some outdated, incomplete worlds of both Ivalice and World, that I downloaded using a mod.
I'll add an adventure map or other world if someone has one that they want to be added.

Since both the current worlds are incomplete, it will mostly consist of 1.0 generated chunks.
Choose whatever you want to do here, you wont keep any stuff you do here anyway.

I wouldn't mind giving it a shot, though I've never tried hosting before (I'd get the hang of it pretty quickly though). Only problem is I did a speed test on my connection, and while I can get between 15-20Mbps download I can only get around 0.5Mbps upload, dunno if that'd be adequate.

My upload speed is 0.77 MB.
Mind if I ask how much ram you have installed?

I could supposedly help run a server (since I used to run the backup) but I'm not sure how well that would work with running the Terraria server in unison.
Upload fluctuates around 1MBps and I can allocate at least 2-3GB of RAM.

Screw the Terraria server. (for the time being)

And Hlot, any chance this could be a downgrade from your ISP because you uploaded GoT and other stuff?

I have a very fast internet connection and I wouldn't mind hosting at all. I just need a little help and I can host a 24/7 server. I also have a 13.72mpbs download speed and and upload speed at 5.76mpbs.

Your upload (and download) is in Megabits per second (not Megabytes), so you need to divide that by 8 to get your connection in megabytes, which is 1.715 MBps down and .72 MBps Up.
Also, how much dedicated RAM can you use for the server?

I'd prefer to use at the maximum 2-3 gigabytes.

I doubt that, but I wouldn't be too shocked if they had some kinda equipment failure. it's happened before.

Pretty much this, if anything, you can only dedicate 1GB of RAM if you want to still use your computer for other things.

That isn't how the server works. You'd have to reset the server each time you wanted to reallocate different amounts of RAM.

It's not really up to me.
However, Carver and I have all the server files, and I had a successful server running. I'm disabling things currently to reduce server lag and such, I think I might be running the server from tomorrow onwards.

Well I downloaded World, which you sent to me.
But when I try to open it, keeps giving me errors that the file is either an unkown format or damaged.

Downloaded it multiple times.
