Strange. (A stimulation?) Especially for it to happen now when updates have been coming out relatively often. Either way these people are dumb. People can still buy minecraft, it just can't authenticate sessions (you can't play on an online server.)

You might notice that our server is still functional, that's because we're in offline mode. As such anyone can log on as anyone else. Because of this I've just been banning any new people that join, fuck them. If a friend of yours of whatever gets banned trying to join then send me a PM.

Anyone (CRAZZY) who logs on under someone else's name will be banned. I can see your IPs, I know who you are, and I don't care if it was a joke.

Really... so this is why MC's authentication servers are down?

In their defense 1.9 is turning into more of an expansion than an update, but what they're trying to get Mojang to do and what they're doing to make them do it is causing more harm than good.

With the server in offline mode it's very easy for someone to come in posing as someone else and cause trouble, so having the server on a sort of lockdown isn't irrational for the time being.
