Just something I want to say [To Mods/Admins]
First of all don't freaking overreact when someone breaks a block.
I have been seeing people getting banned without even getting warned for the smallest stuff, or people get banned injusticely (is that even a word?) for burning a random tree...
It also seems to be fairly common for staff to provoke new guys to the point where they get mad and take offense, only for the mod/admin in question taking offense too and freaking out. Real mature.
If you are not sure if someone is a griefer, observe. Use vanish and above all, use that pink blob that's between your ears.
Also another thing I've been seeing is people that KEEP asking for promotions.
I'm just going to say it here to everyone that keeps coming with points like 'But I've been here longer then <insert random admin>', no way you're going to get promoted just for that.
Since we went with the new ranks, I feel that promotions should be based on quality instead of quantity. <--also counts for members duh
This is also part of the reason why 25 moderators got demoted a while back. Because they either didn't add anything, were inactive, or just wanted the rank.
I dont know if its the beer or tiredness but I just felt like mentioning that.
Morale of the story: Think before acting if you like your rank. I'm getting sick of certain people harassing players.

Unjustly is the word you're looking for, and I agree, especially about the mods waving their e-cocks around. Sometimes it's hard for me to tell what's going on based on just the console lb, but I usually just freeze them and leave them frozen until I can get on and do /lb tp player <player> created fire/lava/etc... The only exception is during a "griefer invasion" when I'll sometimes ban people wtihout due process just because there's so many of them.

I think the only exceptions may be griefer invasions, which I ban on sight, and blatant offenses, where a new person walks into a home that obviously isn't his and starts laying down TNT or lava everywhere, to which I freeze, rollback, and eventually ban. I believe in some cases, if you just use good judgement, you can tell if it's deliberate. Then there are others where LogBlock is listing twenty pages of fire and it turns out someone just wanted to clear some forest to build. If you don't see it, don't know, or aren't there, ask. Vanish and teleport. Freeze em if you need to, the guilty ones usually logout without a word when you do that.onlycoops wrote:Much agreed carver. Hence why I have been doing the whole warning thing.
Good judgement. That's all it takes. Personally, if I see a moderator or admin who can't or refuses to even attempt this (yes, attempt, it's an acquired skill after all), I don't see how they're helping us.
