I was thinking that with everything this server has, it would be great with one mod. This mod i was think of would be airplane mod, that lets you make airplanes and play them around. If this were to be done, there could be actuall battle and dogfights, and those skilled enough could build aircraft carriers and just have games once a week (or even we could play small capture the flag every so often)on a world of pure water with people carriers(or maybe stuff like the copperhead) imported into it for a bunch of fun.
I just want to know what people think of this idea, or howed you like to use it, or any mods to put in with it.

I don't know what the airplane mod is exactly, so the following will help you understand whether it's doable or not.
In Minecraft lingo, anything that alters the game comes in two varieties: mods and plugins.
Mods are where you go into your own minecraft.jar file and add/modify the code somehow. This is a client-side modification, meaning the modification is unique to your Minecraft. Mods are often used to add items, NPCs, and otherwise alter the game's mechanics somehow. By default, these modifications can only be seen and used by you.
Plugins are where a plugin.jar file is imported on the fly into a running server, essentially adding onto it. By definition, plugins can modify most mechanics, but can't add unique entities or create new mechanics. Plugins are more or less universal, as anyone who connects to the server can potentially use any plugin the server has installed.
There's a third, sort of hybrid of this, where a mod is adapted to be used on a server. Basically the server.jar is directly modified in a similar fashion a client.jar would be with a client-side mod. This carries with it some problems: 1) Even with the modifications, it usually relies on any connecting clients to also have modifications, and 2) In some cases, any clients missing these modifications can't even connect to the server because the server now looks foreign. However even if they can connect, they're likely to get kicked off the server or have their client crash when encountering the modification.
Long story short, unless what you're talking about is a plugin, it's probably not happening because all it'll do is alienate the majority of our player base.
