Command Blocks

They are nice and all, but are we going to just let everyone place them and mess around with changing time/everyone's gamemods ect?

I believe you have to be an OP to edit what the command block does. So only OPs should be able to change time/everyone's gamemode.

Well a non-OP just used it to change time

I was expecting disaster, seriously, it's like giving tnt/lava/mob eggs to a griefer, but I can't control what happens anyway :/.

I think you need to be an op to set one up or something? Anyway I fully expect command blocks to be modified by a plugin (whhhy doesn't minecraft have built in permission support yet...) That lets us set a permission node to allow their use. (and hopefully give them more features.)

edit: another way to do the plugin would just be to make it so the person activating the block needs the permissions to use the command the block is executing.

edit: Imagine a maze or challenge of some sort and you can find a command block that when used gives the user a certain permission node, or even a group promotion. So much potential.
