New folk may need to work for creative like back in the days

Seriously, if people can't stop using creative for griefing purposes, well what else can be done, besides looking for more plugins,

remember this is optional, feel free to post your opinions on this idea

I think we're just going to find ourselves on another side of the earned vs expected issue.

Forcing players to earn creative means they'll inherently start in survival. While I personally prefer survival, I know some people despise it and would rather express creativity. However, should they earn creative, they'll appreciate it...

...Which is the problem with the other side, where creative is expected. It wasn't earned, so it's under-appreciated and squandered, resulting in roller coasters and pixel art everywhere, and allowing griefers to make a possibly irreversible impact in seconds.

I've seen this server do both, and surprisingly it resulted in completely different social environments. When creative had to be earned, fewer newcomers appeared or stayed, but those who were active on the server became part of a sort of family. Since creative became expected, we get tons of newcomers who use the server to vent their creativity.

Bottom line, we're not gonna win with either route. Personally though, I think making the newbs earn those roller coasters will make them appreciate it a lot more.

Has anything happened that couldn't be rolled back in about 30 seconds?

Well I'll try to fix that permission wise, but if you don't have perms to rollback then how can you claim it's not working...

Hlot did that months ago so mods cant roll back too much, just in case something goes wrong.
Its kinda 'strict'.

I don't think you can rollback with... world edit selections. That's what the picture makes it look like you're doing anyway, but I'm probably wrong.
Are you adding 'area 10000' or some other number to the end of the rollback command? It works for me that way.

Well I attempted to break 4 or 5 grass blocks, then attempted to roll myself back by 1 minute, same error message, plus I wasn't using WE, that pic was old when spawn was griefed a few days ago, and I was attempting to rollback the damage, I ended up not being able to.
