Well you could always turn off the premium authentication if you wanted.
It's 10 in the evening here so who knows how long it might take for the problem to get fixed.

When I do that, it logs me in as "Player"

yeah but both servers are seeing everyone as Player right now. Maybe something they changed in 1.3, I dunno.

Yeah it sounds like something new to prevent people from impersonating others
