We have about a month to write the history of skagos, we have some things set so far

-Skagos is westeros, hundreds of years later

-Sirrus is king, and decsended from himself from westeros, making him sirrus the 7th.

-Same for JJ and the mongooses.

-the mongooses are in league with the assassins, who have taken several towns over.

-Yggdrasil, the tree of life, is the only location fully safe from danger, as some mysterious force protects it and the town surrounding it from all fighting, as well as the powers.

-powers: a wizard did it, unless someone can think of a better reason they exist in-universe.

-Skagos is connected to the ancient cave, a realm filled with wonders beyond your wildest dreams-and dangers your nightmares would be scared of...

-Neutralizer beacons are mechanical implementations of Yggdrasil's power blocking, developed by the Crown corporation, S86 Farms.

If you can think of more mythology for Skagos, post it here and we'll try and work it in somehow.

If you couldn't tell before, I used to dabble a bit in RP, my favorite thing being backstories. I already came up with one for Skagos that explains powers, while also tying into Sirrus' backstory. I'll post it later.

Sirrus' backstory, origin of powers, etc:

---

Through hard work and perseverence, Lord Sirrus and his trusted lieutenants Lord Carver and Lord Kam, along with the several men and women who worked to bring Sirrus Farms to its pinnacle, rose victorious over JJoiler and his Mongoose horde. Standing alone as leader of the nation's final superpower, Sirrus proclaimed himself the true king of Westeros.

For his first act as king, he had JJoiler and the Mongooses banished from Westeros. This ruling was met with mixed response from the people, and Sirrus' advisors quickly feared that he had created a rift in the population. Sirrus dismissed these fears, believing himself invincible... until one night an assassin nearly took his life within his own home. The assassin managed to escape, thinking he had succeeded in dispatching the new king, but Lord Sirrus narrowly survived his wounds, several scars covering his body from the incident, and an impact to his head which left him almost completely blind.

Convinced his near-death experience was caused by his failure as a knight, and ashamed that a single man could nearly bring him to his knees, Sirrus decided to set off into the wilderness in hopes of resharpening his skills. Before he began his journey, he coated his diamond sword in his blood, then shattered it, gaving the pieces to his lieutenants and advisors, explaining he would return to reforge his sword when he was truly ready to rule as a knight-king.

Where Lord Sirrus went after that is known only in rumors and myths. Some traveling merchants claimed they were met by a robed man, under which they could faintly make out scars similar to those Sirrus himself had incurred. Eventually the sightings became more and more scarce, then stopped entirely. Many wondered what had become of their king, while others forgot of him.

Then one day, the sword shards Sirrus had entrusted to his people began to shimmer an eerie, purple glow. Those who touched these glowing shards soon found themselves capable of unique and powerful feats. Some could pounce onto unreachable ledges, others could control the elements, while others gained knowledge to create powerful weapons. Word traveled around Westeros that these shards had become enchanted, and bestowed great power upon those who could absorb some of their power.

Some days later a dark, robed figure made his way into the main kingdom of Westeros, in his hand the hilt of a broken weapon. As he strolled through the kingdom, the many enchanted shards were ripped from the homes of their keepers, seeming to be called to the hilt where they gradually reshaped the sword. As the final piece fit into place on the blade, the figure cast off his robes, revealing a man with faintly glowing eyes and black, almost stone-like marks across his body. As the citizens of the kingdom came to huddle around the figure, it soon became apparent who it was: their king had finally returned.

Lord Sirrus the First stood before his people, and told them a tale of his journey. In his attempt to seek enlightenment, he was required solitude, and was forced to change direction every time he passed any travelers. Though many he beast he slaughtered, he was eventually forced to tame wolves to aide him as his eyesight continued to worsen due to his wounds from his attempted murder. In time he became lost in a deep cave. Falling victim to starvation, his wolves eventually passed in their continued struggles to defend their owner against the hordes of living dead found in the chasms. In one final battle, Sirrus was ambushed by a creeper, which detonated, destroying the ground beneath his feet and sending him falling to his death. It was luck that beneath Lord Sirrus lay the treasure room of a long-forgotten fortress, but this luck was soon withdrawn as a mysterious portal formed directly beneath him, swallowing him into another world.

Sirrus would divulge no more, other than to state that one day he managed to return to Westeros with new power. In his blindness, darkness had become his ally. He no longer needed sight, for what was shrouded in the shadows became his domain.

Sirrus was interested to learn that he was not the only one to gain new power, as his sword's shards seemed to transfer his gift to others, gifting abilities unique and suited to the owner. However in his absence, Lord Sirrus soon learned that a secret sect of the Mongooses had managed to infiltrate the kingdom, in an attempt to undermine his kingship.

As years went by, it was learned that these new powers people were gifted could be transferred from parent to child, in some cases becoming stronger with each generation. The same could be said for Lord Sirrus, as his great-grandchild Lord Sirrus IV would discover that endermen played a huge part in his ancestor's survival, and in turn could make them an ally.

For years these powers were embraced, as they kept the kingdom safe and made any oppressor a fool to question the king's rule. It wasn't until the rule of Lord Sirrus VII that the Neutralizer technology was developed to disable powers. Many citizens were initially confused as to why he would suddenly implement such a technology, but those close to him remember the moment this decision was made very well. As one day Lord Sirrus VII went to shine the namesake blade his ancestors had passed down to him, he let out a cry in panic as he showed the blade to his advisors.

Miraculously, for centuries nobody had looked carefully at the blade... or they would've seen a small piece had been missing the whole time.

---

Let me know what you think. I purposely didn't include anyone so that they could freely develop their own backstory.

Also, I think when Skagos goes live "king" Sirrus should be forced to flee his kingdom, making claiming the throne one of the possible motivations for other factions.

Kinda sounds like a part of a cut-scene when Moonbroke castle gets burnt down from the attack of hargons forces. (Dragon warrior/quest 2)

Official Skagos mythology establishing thread Empty Lore Of the Bryseth Assasins

Post  brysi Sat Jul 07, 2012 1:49 am

High Blood Bryseth had ventured into an unknown land teeming with life. So on one day to many from living from cave to cave brysi decided to stand up to the monsters who ravaged twilight. So on that morn, brysi spent till midday gathering various resources. By the third week of his first stand, brysi had recruited two faithful lieutenants, SkippertheNewt and bobby16may.
after a patrol around the claimed land a stone structure was seen in the distance. In but few months that building became four cold walls and towers; forged from the blood, sorrow, of numerous sacrificed slaves. Wolverine keep, and its ruthless leader Hlot.

He got too curious. He geared up and cased the place. After many days of studying guard paths, brysi noticed a blind spot. Many days later the high blood broke into the castle. From the looks of the inside they looked civilized. Until he saw the un-humaine slaughter of cattle and fowl. A contingent of soldiers going into and exiting various rooms, seeming to be searching for something. they were slowly making their way towards brysi. He dashed to the nearest bunk house. It was that secision that almost ended him and delved his band of assassins into a blood war. This bunk huse belong to a LinkCLX. brysi ran trying to dodge the guards. He quickly ran to the slaughter house and grabbed mobspawners. A fortnight of fleeing in the cackling forrest, brysi found his fort in ruin. bobby16may and SkippertheNewt infiltrated S86farms rather than going through with another assassination, last attempt was a love-tap at best. Grouping the faction together to join S86, it was either join and save the land we cherish or let it fall to the wolverine and mongoose scourges. brysi has fled the nation of Weteros due to natural forces wiping out the rest of his fort. He eventually hit and ocean with his belongings and took off in his mirage cruiser. brysi finally met up with his friends in a portcity in Ghis, set up shop and fought many glorious battles. Now this is the last page of the lore of High Blood Bryseth, a rumor of a new land has been bustling all over rum ham. Skagos an ancient area of the empire of S86 farms with land good enough to rule on. The faith of the future of the Assassins is in brysi's hands, the future of the new empire! RESTO NELLA DIMPACE!!

Post  LinkCLX Sun Jul 15, 2012 2:09 am

After the Mongooses slowly faded within Lord Sirrus's kingdom, Link managed to become a wealthy supplier of pigs to the kingdom. Though keeping a secret alliance with the Mongooses who were banished from Westeros, he constantly kept the livestock in the kingdom well fed and plentiful. One day when feeding his pigs, Link's descendant LinkCLX the 7th found a mystical purple shard in a pig's mouth. As soon as he touched it, the traits and abilities of pigs were given to him. He called his wife Maria, to ask her what was happening. But when he went into his house, she was dead. Lord Sirrus VII's men had killed her. Link went to his basement and pulled out his family heirlooms. An enchanted bow, and his ancestor's grenadier suit, and a scroll locating the remaining descendants of the Mongooses. He was ready for war.
