Some tweaks for classes in /fight
-Knight is way too overpowered now that diamond armor got tweaked to be alot stronger.
Solution: Replace diamond armor for iron armor.
-Mages cant cast spells at the moment, making it a useless class.
Thats all I can think of right now, to be updated later.

The knight thing is easy enough, I'm not sure what the problem with mages is, do you have to type /cast fireball first like you used to?

Mages can't seem to use spells unless they know it, and the wand seems to be broken.

Ideally there would be multiple mage classes (firemage, healer, guy who has leap.) but that requires some work on the /fight plugin (to add custom permissions for the player when he joins a class, and remove those permissions when he leaves the class or fight is over) and I don't have access to the source code to do it myself.
so until then the only way to do magic in /fight is remove all spells except the ones we want in fight (fireball, heal, one other maybe.) A while back I took away all spells except the ones mages can use in fight, but people got annoyed and eventually I gave some people some spells and I gather they've re-proliferated by now. End result is this: for now ANYONE with a stick in /fight should be able to cast any spells that they know.
On top of that there's this weird /fight/magicspells bug where you can't seem to use the want in /fight until you first cast the spell by using the command. Do /cast fireball and then you should be able to use the stick for fireball.

Nope, Tried to duel with Carver on this one.
Tried /cast entomb, it said "you can't cast that spell right now"
Tried eating the apple and doing that, same result.
Tried the steak, same result.
Tried Right Clicking the gold helmet, look like mage is currently powerless.

alright, I look into that later and see if I can at least get mages working like they used to (read:poorly.) Right now we're using /fight, the developer just stopped working on it and even went so far as to delete the thread about it on bukkit. So this new guy takes over and now it's http://dev.bukkit.org/server-mods/battlenight/ I haven't installed BattleNight yet because I'm not sure if the configuration is the same as /fight or what, but I'll look into that and try to bug the guy again to add permissions or give me the source.
